Bob Cummings to Retire Following More Than Four Decades in the Glass Industry

Industry veteran concludes career spanning sales, operations and executive leadership across glass manufacturing, fabrication and glazing

TUKWILA, Wash. — September 22, 2026 — Hartung Glass Industries today announced that longtime glass industry executive Bob Cummings will retire on September 25, 2026, concluding a career of more than four decades in the glass and glazing industry.

 

Cummings' career has spanned nearly every level of commercial and executive leadership, from sales representative and sales manager to general manager, vice president, president, chief operating officer and chief executive officer. Over the course of his career, he held leadership positions with Standard Bent Glass Corporation, United Glass Corporation, Guardian Industries, Consolidated Glass Holdings, United Architectural Metals and Hartung Glass Industries.

Cummings first joined Hartung in 2014, serving as Vice President of Sales for the Southwest Region through 2018. He later served as Vice President of Architectural Sales and Marketing and ultimately President and CEO of Consolidated Glass Holdings, where he helped lead an organization that included several well-known architectural glass fabrication businesses. In 2021, he joined United Architectural Metals as Chief Operating Officer before returning to Hartung in 2024 as Vice President of Sales.

Throughout his career, Cummings developed a reputation for building strong sales organizations, developing people and cultivating lasting customer relationships across both the glass manufacturing and fabrication sides of the industry.

Cummings will spend time with customers, colleagues and longtime industry friends at GlassBuild America prior to his retirement.
